That’s why we’ve invested in state-of-the-art CEREC technology that lets us perform a variety of restorative procedures in a single easy appointment. Whether you need to fix a chipped tooth, get a crown or replace an old amalgam filling, the doctor can likely get you in and out in little more than an hour. Here’s what we do:
TAKE THE IMPRESSION
Once we remove all decay and shape the tooth in preparation for the procedure, we take a digital image of your tooth with a specialized CEREC camera. No more biting on gloppy, unpleasant tasting impression material until it hardens!
DESIGN THE RESTORATION
Next, the CEREC software converts the optical impression of your tooth into a 3D virtual model that we’ll use to design your restoration while you wait (and watch!).
MILL AND PLACE THE RESTORATION
After designing the restoration, the doctor clicks a button, and the design data is wirelessly sent to the CEREC milling machine. This machine starts with a strong ceramic block that closely matches the shade and translucency of your tooth, and shapes it into a finished restoration. 10 to 20 minutes later, the doctor chemically bonds the restoration to your existing tooth and ensures proper fit and bite.
This entire amazing process takes about an hour, which means you can get in, get out and get on with your life!
